Last year, IMANA received hundreds of applications to its scholarship program. This year we’ve already seen a 12.5% increase, and it’s growing. To allow recommenders more time, we extended the application deadline to March 30. It’s clear that students are lining up for financial support because educational costs continue to soar.
Unfortunately, the stigma associated with mental health often prevents affected individuals from getting the proper help and treatment on their journey to better well-being. IMANA recognizes this need and aims to improve awareness and access to services in the Muslim community by launching its free Muslim Mental Health Professionals directory and list of resources. Through education and advocacy, we’ll break down barriers surrounding mental health, support those affected, and better serve our community.
In 2022 IMANA is focusing on striving to do good and positively impact the health of humanity… Building upon the visionary leadership of our founders and the heritage they created, IMANA is mobilizing our endowment funds to offer grants in two areas: Free Clinics and Capacity Building

IMANA has been involved with medical relief work in Pakistan since 2005, and with your backing we can ensure that patients receive the medical care they so desperately need. Last week, the Virginia Council of Muslim Organizations (VCMO) hosted an event to recognize community members helping with the resettlement of Afghan refugees in the state. VCMO invited Dr. Khalique Zahir, IMANA Board member, and Mr. Zahid Mahmood, Director of Operations, to the event attended by top leadership and officials from the Department of Homeland Security, FEMA, and Virginia Governor’s office.
